Currently windows runs on x86 & x64 CPU architecture but recently it was tested and working on ARM processors as well. Previously windows 10 only enabled unmodified x86 apps to run on ARM devices but windows 11 adds the ability to run both x86 and x64 apps to run on ARMs. It made a huge deals as it gave assurance to end users that most of their daily driven apps will run on ARM devices. Qualcomm announces 20+ Snapdragon X Elite/Plus laptops.
Qualcomm Snapdragon X laptops are here. Qualcomm and It’s partners has announced laptops powered by ARM architecture and Windows 11.
Qualcomm is the third leading CPU manufacturer in the market, Qualcomm’s approach features different feature ARM architecture which was targeted for the low power and better performance segment. These new laptops are shipped with Windows 11 + AI copilot.
Qualcomm has partnered with leading laptop manufacturers such as ACER, Dell, Microsoft, Samsung, Asus, Lenovo.
These laptops are not targeted for gaming audience as it does not include discrete GPU’s and expected to priced at $1000. From the leaks it has rumored that next generation of these processors are under development competing with Intel and AMD.

Qualcomm has invested in the market of laptops with it’s excellence in arm CPU’s which means technically it can run games right? well it’s complicated. Microsoft recently demonstrated that the insanely popular role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 can run on the Snapdragon X Elite at 30FPS. These are results are supposed to be at 1080p resolution with low graphics preset. Does not seems promising right?
Microsoft also confirmed that these windows machines with ARM architecture can run Borderlands 3 ( another popular FPS videogame ) smoothly on Microsoft Surface Pro. By smoothly they mean at 30fps using ‘Auto SR’ Super Resolution enabled.

Conclusion
ARM laptops with Microsoft windows are set to be launched world wide sooner than expected. These machines are definitely will be power efficient and provide good performance in your daily drive workloads.

For gamers it is not yet but in the future kind of statement, as Qualcomm has not stated anything about discrete graphics processing unit for these laptops.
